Fall is Here - Fall Activities You Can Do At the Lake

It's beginning to look a lot like fall here in the Midwest! The temperature is starting to cool down and the leaves are changing color. Before too long there isn't going to be too many water activities going on. Follow this list for some fall friendly activities!

Bonfire

Cozy, fun, and a great past-time! Bonfires are a great way to warm up during the cooler fall nights. Cozy up under a blanket with your loved ones and look up at the stars. Be sure to roast some marshmallows too for a tasty treat!

Bike Ride

Exercise, a breath of fresh air, looking around at the changing trees, and biking - what could be better?! There is no better time to bike than in the cool fall breeze. Grab your bike and take a ride around the lake!

Rake Your Leaves

Raking your leaves can be fun if jumping in them is part of the process. You could even make a "leaf angel"! If you have a neighbor who is a part-timer, consider raking up their leaves for them too.

Take a Hike

If you are by a lake, sometimes there are some trails nearby that you can hike. Take advantage of these during the fall time. They are going to be gorgeous!

Go Camping

Cooler weather is the perfect camping weather. Pitch a tent in your yard by the lake and tell spooky stories under the stars.

Go Canoeing/Kayaking

It may be too chilly to swim for enjoyment, but that doesn't mean you can't hop in your canoe/kayak with the family. Race the kayaks and have some fun. Just don't fall in!

Polar Plunge

If you're feeling really adventurous - you could take the polar plunge! Jump in the lake for a good laugh, it could even wake you up a bit! Have a wetsuit? We love a good fall skiing run, in fact Thanksgiving morning has been one of our favorite days for perfect calm ski water.

Fall is one of our favorite seasons! Enjoy this time of year at the lake!
